Lets talk about food!

In 2011 Sally, a 27-year-old American created a blog called “Sally’s baking addiction” which had me mesmerized the first time it popped up on my computer screen. Only after searching very shortly for a proper blog for our homework I stumbled across Sally’s blog and I immediately fell in love with it. An immense amount of pictures of delicious-looking cupcakes and cookies and whatnot greet you as soon as you enter Sally’s page. So maybe I chose to write about this particular blog because we’re in the middle of the Lenten season and everybody craves some treats but I think that no other blog would have enchanted me as much at any other time of the year.
Sally, a self-taught baker, created this page because she wanted to share her “addiction” with other people who maybe love baking equally as much as she does. Baking is generally the number one thing she does when she is not working full time or pursuing her other hobby photographing. Very soon after going through her website you realize that Sally is a very open person who not only shares her baking triumphs with her readers but all of her failures as well. She tells them about her private life and gives them tidbits of information about herself whenever she can. That just goes to show that really good baking recipes and a likeable character are the two most important ingredients on one’s recipe for success.

After having given you a short overview of who Sally is and what her blog is like you must be dying to know what kind of yummy treats you can expect. I am very sure though, that there won’t be anything you can’t find in her blog because her recipes range from pies, cakes and cupcakes to all different kinds of brownies and cookies. “Chocolate Cupcakes with Creamy Nutella frosting”, “Cake Batter Chocolate Chip Cookies” and “Skinny Chocolate Peanut Butter Swirl Cupcakes” are only a few of Sally’s most tantalizing choices. Sally really loves to experiment, especially mixing different flavors like sweet and salty (e.g. chocolate and peanut butter) for different recipes. Very astonishing though is the fact that she came up with almost all of those recipes herself. Furthermore she also tries  out a lot of different baking techniques and attempts to avoid sugar or other rather unhealthy ingredients in her recipes. So don’t worry, you won’t have to feel too bad about eating a few too many of her “Skinny Banana Blueberry Muffins”.
If you still haven’t really understood why I love Sally’s blog so much, you need to take a look yourself. Her blog is colorful, fun and inviting. Sally creates an atmosphere that makes you feel  like you can easily bake anything of what she has published. This enthusiasm has also had me thrilled and it even intensified my own love for baking. Furthermore the kind of treats she bakes are so very different from the Austrian kind of goods and I am always ready to try out new stuff. Therefore the first thing I’ll do in the holidays is baking one of Sally's cupcakes and then I'll let you all know if I managed to do it. If you want to try as well just go ahead but if you don’t succeed the first time just keep the following in mind: No one is born a master.

I do not own any of the pictures, they’re all property of
